Your Doctors Summer Hill

I just moved into the local area and booked a Saturday appointment on the long weekend as I could not wait until the Monday. The reason for the appointment to see the doctor as I found a irregularity on my breast which was causing much anxiety. On arriving I was told as a new patient I would need a 30 minute appointment of which I made clear it would be a very quick appointment to put my mind at ease. After multiple patients being called to see the doctor and waiting over 15 minutes the receptionist came back to talk to us. The receptionist had been juggling calls many calls and apologised for this, it seemed a doctor was missing as patients were doubling up. I was advised I couldn’t be seen and could come back Monday. I explained the reason for my visit and nature, just needing a doctor to sight the irregularity but was sent away. The receptionist was empathetic and very professional I can only imagine what was going to be a difficult day by looks. I was disappointed by my experience and the prioritisation of the appointments as I had been distressed since Friday before the public holiday unable to see a doctor and could of secured another appointment at another clinic. The clinic looks very family focused but perhaps not for women’s health as a priority. I will travel back to my old neighbourhood to visit my previous clinic who also specialises in women health rather than book to come back unfortunately.
